Mediterranean Mint Tea Salad Dressing Recipe

Greek Mint Tea Salad Dressing

Teri Lee Gruss
Commercial salad dressings are a frequent source of gluten. Always read labels when buying these products. Making your own salad dressing is incredibly easy. Use your imagination and you can whisk up a limitless variety of gluten free salad dressings. This recipe uses fresh ingredients, with flavor that can't be duplicated in commercial dressings.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 3/4 cup Virgin olive oil
  • 2 teabags Tazo Brand "Zen" tea with lemongrass and spearmint
  • 1 tablespoon Agave Nectar or honey

Put minced garlic, lemon juice, salt and Agave Nectar or honey in a heavy medium sized mixing bowl. Open the teabags and add to the mixture. Slowly drizzle olive oil into the bowl while whisking constantly. Continue to add the olive oil until dressing emulsifies (thickens slightly).

Tip: Agave Nectar is a natural liquid sweetener from the agave cactus plant. It has a more neutral flavor than honey.
Yield: About 1 cup

Reminder: Always make sure your work surfaces, utensils, pans and tools are free of gluten. Always read product labels. Manufacturers can change product formulations without notice. When in doubt, do not buy or use a product before contacting the manufacturer for verification that the product is free of gluten.
