Cut Ends From Rolled Cake

Use a sharp, serated knife to cut a 2 to 3-inch section from each end of cake. Cut one end of the cake at a 45 degree angle for a "wood chopped" look. Set the 2 cut pieces aside. You will use them in the next step to make "chopped branches" before you frost the cake.
