Hummus is a high protein, fiber rich dip made from garbanzo beans, a.k.a. chickpeas. Our recipe for homemade hummus is fast and easy to make in a food processor. It's a real crowd-pleaser served with gluten-free crackers or chips and is an economical alternative to store-bought hummus.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 4 15 ounce cans drained garbanzo beans (chickpeas)
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 3/4 cup Tahini Paste (Sesame Seed Butter)
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 6 tablespoons minced parsley
  • 1 tablespoon ground coriander
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons salt, or to taste
  • ground pepper to taste

Preparation:

Put all ingredients in a food processor. Depending on food processor bowl size, can be divided into two batches to fit. Blend until smooth. Refrigerate.

Tips: Flavors are enhanced overnight. Serve with gluten free rice crackers or celery/carrot sticks. Freezes well.

Makes about 2 1/2 quart

tahini may contain gluten, Member knoppie_

I didn't know where else to put this but i've recently discovered that often, they put flour in tahini to make it thicker, so make sure there's a gluten free logo on the container, other countries may have gluten free brands but any brand made in egypt isn't
